Eye of the Beholder

Eye of the Beholder
"There is beauty all around us ...just waiting to be seen"
"She's at it again"... the words of my children as they see me approaching with my lens cap off and my tripod tucked beneath my arm. "Mom.... no more pictures ... pleeeeaaase!" and I say to my children.... "One day you will be grown, I will be old and this world will have changed in a million different ways, and the only thing I will have to remember the seasons of your youth and the wonder of these times are my photos... so I will close one eye and try to keep focus and you will smile and say cheese!"

Give the Day a Chance....

Come meet me near the river
Beneath the morning moon
Let’s lick the dew of dawn from love,
Let’s sip the breeze with spoon

Peel off the skin of winter
And hang it out to dry
Upon the sleeve of summer
Where snowflakes come to die

Let’s cast off sock and sneaker
Bare naked toes to brook
Burrow them like earthworms
That must evade the hook

Let's take the ribbons from our hair
So that the wind may dance
Let our souls fall free to face
Give the day a chance

Let fingers intertwine with clouds
Let’s grasp the hand of blue
Gather up our dreams of old
And replace them all with new

Come meet me near the river
We’ll stay 'till evening rain
Come with me tomorrow
And we shall do it all again!
